“I am pleased to be here and announce that our new government has decided to continue our humanitarian assistance.
Our Foreign Minister Maxim Prevot is here, along with our Minister of Defense, who is proud to announce a new decision regarding a 1 billion euro aid package for 2025, with an ambition to provide at least 1 billion euros of bilateral military aid each year during my term. Our ministry has several initiatives planned for the near future,” said the Prime Minister.
De Wever highlighted significant interest in establishing Belgian defense production in Ukraine, announcing the signing of four relevant contracts today.
“We must assist Ukraine in developing its defense capabilities, as well as rearm Europe against new aggression from Russia.
I believe we should collaborate to see how our private sector can become interested in investing in Ukraine and building opportunities for our defense industry,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
