On April 8, a new border crossing point called "Velika Palad – Nadyhodosh" opened at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, operating on a temporary basis in the Zakarpattia region.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Community Development and Territories, the new checkpoint is designed for passenger vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons and will operate daily from 7 AM to 6 PM.
It is expected that the crossing will accommodate 200 passenger cars and 600 pedestrians per day.
Oleksii Kubel, Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine's Recovery, stated that there are plans to establish a full-fledged crossing point in the future.
"This is the first new border crossing on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border opened in several decades," he emphasized.
Currently, there are five operational vehicle crossing points on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. The largest one is "Chop – Zakhon", designated for trucks over 7.5 tons.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, the "Luzhanka – Beregshuran" crossing became accessible for empty trucks over 7.5 tons.
