In Cordoba, Spain, a devastating accident occurred where two high-speed trains collided and derailed, leading to significant loss of life.

According to reports from emergency services, the death toll is still rising. Initial information from the Ministry of the Interior indicated at least 21 fatalities, but now the confirmed number is 39.

The number of injured has also seen a sharp increase. Initially reported as over 100, it is now known that approximately 170 individuals have sustained injuries of varying severity.

The President of the Andalusia region provided details on the hospitalization status, stating that 75 of the injured remain in hospitals, with 15 in critical condition, including four children.

The regional leader expressed gratitude to the emergency services for their swift actions that saved lives.

This tragedy has paralyzed rail services in southern Spain. Official announcements have confirmed that high-speed train operations between Madrid and cities like Cordoba, Seville, Malaga, and Huelva will be suspended at least through Monday.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also responded to the train disaster. Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

In a social media post, he stated: "Tragic news from Cordoba, Spain, where a deadly train accident has claimed many lives. We share the pain of our Spanish friends and extend our sympathies to the victims' families. Wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. Stay strong, dear Spanish friends."
