The US Army is preparing to launch an innovative pilot project utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance personnel management processes. This information comes from Military AI.
The upcoming platform, named HR Intelligent Engagement Platform, aims to automate routine administrative tasks such as leave requests, form filling, and resolving issues within the Army's personnel systems. Furthermore, AI is expected to be integrated into other military systems.
Colonel Matthew Paul, the project lead for IPPS-A, stated that the US Army is currently looking for contractors to develop this system. A mobile application is also anticipated as part of the platform.
"As a soldier, if I need just a hint on how to access certain information, how can I get that?" Paul remarked.
A contract for this AI pilot project is expected to be finalized this year, although officials have yet to establish fixed deployment timelines. Should the project be implemented, it would significantly reduce paperwork and improve unit readiness, noted Colonel Becky Last, director of the Army's Functional Management Division.
It is worth mentioning that Ukraine is already deploying a digital military personnel accounting system called "Impulse," which serves similar functions. According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal, "Impulse" is the first mass information and communication system at the tactical level, set to operate in every military unit.
