G7 Ambassadors Convene to Discuss Energy Sector Support for Ukraine

On October 10, G7 ambassadors held an urgent meeting with Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk and energy sector representatives to discuss the need for assistance following recent Russian strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure. This information was shared by the G7 ambassadors' group in Ukraine on social media platform X.
In attendance were representatives from Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrenergo, and Energoatom alongside Minister Hrynchuk.
The discussions focused on Russian attacks on critical infrastructure and the support for Ukraine in countering further strikes and addressing the most immediate needs in the energy sector.

Background. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on international partners for a decisive response to the Russian assaults on critical civilian infrastructure that occurred overnight on October 10. The EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, stated that Russia's strikes on energy facilities constitute war crimes that cannot be forgiven.
