Mass protests have erupted in Serbia, marked by violence and clashes with law enforcement. In Novi Sad, the nation’s second-largest city, demonstrators vandalized the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPS).

Reports indicate that dozens broke windows, threw furniture out, and spray-painted the building's facade.

The police deployed tear gas to disperse the crowd, surrounding several areas within the city.

In the capital, Belgrade, protesters gathered on main boulevards, where confrontations occurred between them and SPS supporters.

Witnesses described police using force to disperse the anti-government activists.

Protests were also reported in other cities, including Pancevo and Sabac, where the interior minister accused protesters of attacking the police.

According to reports, dozens of officers were injured during the clashes, and many protesters were arrested.

The opposition party reported that one of its parliament members was injured and hospitalized during the protests.

The demonstrations began following a tragedy at a railway station that resulted in 16 deaths, sparking public outrage and accusations of corruption.

On Wednesday evening, activists called for new protests in major cities, including Novi Sad and Belgrade.
