The Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal, emphasized the importance of maintaining an active dialogue between Ukraine and the United States in the field of defense cooperation.

He shared this information on his Telegram channel.

According to Shmyhal, a productive meeting took place today in Kyiv with the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine, Julie Davis, Brigadier General Brad Nicholson, and Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard.

«I expressed gratitude to the United States, President Trump, and Congress for their unwavering support, particularly for announcing the transfer of Patriot systems and advanced weaponry. This is crucial for protecting our citizens from ongoing attacks by Russia», - he stressed.

The participants discussed the implementation of previous agreements regarding defense support and the development of bilateral cooperation, especially in the area of joint UAV production. Shmyhal highlighted that new significant projects are in the pipeline.

«We summarized the outcomes of the meeting in the format of «Ramstein». I appreciated Defense Minister Pete Hegseth's participation. It is essential to hold the next meeting in person soon», - added Shmyhal.

He also noted that the Ministry of Defense is working closely with American partners.

«Achieving lasting peace through strength remains our goal. We are convinced that this can be accomplished under U.S. leadership», - he concluded.
