The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Serhiy Kyslytsia, and Ukrainian delegation member Oleksandr Bevz held a significant meeting with representatives from Germany, Italy, and the UK ahead of negotiations with the Russian delegation in Istanbul.
Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Heorhii Tykhyi, reported that this event took place on June 2.
During the meeting, the parties coordinated their positions and reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to peaceful resolution efforts.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Ukrainian delegation elaborated on the agenda items, including a leaders' meeting, a ceasefire, and humanitarian measures to build trust.
It is worth noting that on June 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the updated composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations with Russia in Istanbul aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.
The delegation is led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Alexey Malovatsky has been excluded from the new list.
Andrii Fomin, Yevheniy Ostryansky, and Yuriy Kovbasa have been added to the team.
On June 2, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Turkey for the second round of negotiations, which are set to begin around 1 PM Kyiv time.
