Tragedy Strikes Hamburg Hospital: Three Lives Lost in Fire

At least three individuals lost their lives due to a fire that broke out in a hospital in Hamburg, Germany, on Sunday night.

This was reported by "European Truth" citing DW.

The blaze ignited shortly after midnight in one of the buildings of the Marien hospital located in the Hoenfelde district.

According to a fire service representative, thick smoke filled every floor of the structure.

As a result, three people have died, and over 50 have sustained injuries, 16 of whom are in serious condition. At least one person is in critical condition due to the fire.

The cause of the fire, which started in the geriatric care unit on the first floor, remains unknown.

A large team of rescuers was deployed to extinguish the fire and evacuate people from the hospital. By Sunday morning, Hamburg authorities announced that the fire had been brought under control.
