New Air Alert System in Sumy Region

Starting August 6, air alerts in the Sumy region will be announced by districts, rather than for the entire area.

This was reported by OVA head Oleg Hryhorov on Facebook.

"In response to requests from communities and business representatives, the Sumy OVA initiated the implementation of a zonal air alert system. We engaged in dialogue with the central government, and they responded positively. As of today, a new differentiated warning system is operational in Sumy", - noted the regional leader.

According to Hryhorov, from now on, alerts will only sound in areas facing direct threats.

"When an alert lasts for 12–15 hours a day, it significantly complicates life and operations. The zonal alert system helps to reduce this burden and ensures stable functioning of businesses, healthcare, education, and other vital sectors", - explained the OVA head.
