On the night of August 4 to 5, Lozova in the Kharkiv region suffered a massive drone attack, resulting in over 30 drones being deployed and two fatalities.

This was reported by the mayor of Lozova, Serhiy Zelensky, in a video address.

“It was a horrifying night for our town. We’ve never experienced such an attack. More than thirty ‘Shaheds’ struck Lozova, with the last drones targeting as emergency services were already on-site – it was deliberate and despicable,” he emphasized.

According to him, a 55-year-old mechanic from a railway unit was killed, and 10 others suffered various degrees of injury, including a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.

The attack also caused significant damage to the railway infrastructure, with windows shattered in nearby buildings and a kindergarten.

Efforts are ongoing to mitigate the aftermath of the assault and restore electricity service.

Alexey Zubashev, head of the Lozova Electric Distribution Company, stated that due to the enemy attack, nearly 80% of consumers were left without electricity.

“Energy specialists immediately began working on restoring power: operational switches, implementing temporary power schemes, and so forth. Initially, we focused on supplying critical infrastructure. We are gradually reconnecting residential consumers. Currently, part of the city, including Avylyvka, remains without power, but we are doing everything possible to restore electricity to everyone as soon as possible,” he assured.
