All Hungarian border crossing points with Ukraine have implemented a new control system, which includes the collection of biometric data for citizens of third countries. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Since October 28, the Entry/Exit System (EES) has been activated at crossing points that were not yet connected. It is worth noting that on October 12, the «Berehshurany» vehicle crossing, opposite the Ukrainian «Luzhanka», was connected to EES, and on October 21, the «Zakhon» railway crossing was added.
The following border crossings operate on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border: «Dzvinkove-Lonja», «Luzhanka-Berehshurany», «Kosino-Barabash», «Vylok-Tisabech», «Velyka Palad-Kodosh», «Chop(Tisa)-Zakhon», and «Chop(Druzhba)-Zakhon».
It is important to emphasize that the introduction of EES aims to accelerate border control, enhance security, accurately monitor the duration of stay for foreign nationals in the EU, and combat illegal migration.
The functioning of this new system will not affect the overall border control process.
We advise citizens to consider this information when planning trips abroad.
