Law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with border guards, have halted the operations of an international network involved in drug smuggling.
Based on intelligence received, the 7th Border Guard Detachment, working with customs officials and under the supervision of the Lviv Prosecutor's Office, with assistance from the SBU in the region, identified a supply channel for narcotics into Ukraine.
During a vehicle inspection at the «Ugryniv» crossing point, the border guards discovered concealed packages of drugs within the structural voids of the Renault vehicle.

A total of over 27 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized, including:

  • cocaine - 6,454 g (5 packages),
  • amphetamine - 564 g (1 package),
  • Alfa-PVP («bath salts») - 20,587 g (20 packages).

The preliminary market value of the seized items is estimated at around 42 million hryvnias.
The driver was a 34-year-old woman from Kyiv, who, according to the investigation, was acting as a courier and colluded with other members of the criminal group. After delivery, the drugs were intended to be shipped by mail and later sold within Ukraine.
The woman has been charged under Part 2 of Article 15 (Attempted Crime), Part 3 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Drug Smuggling). Her accomplice, a 45-year-old resident of Kyiv, faces charges under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment, or sale of narcotic drugs).
Both suspects have been remanded in custody without the right to bail.
Investigations are ongoing to identify all individuals involved in the international drug channel.
