A former head of the fuel supply service of a military unit in the Mykolaiv region has been detained on suspicion of corruption, causing a loss of over 24 million UAH to the state.
The prosecution, led by the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region, has charged the former official with misappropriation of military property and negligence in service (Part 3 of Article 410, Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, from 2020 to 2025, the suspect received fuel for the needs of the military unit but failed to deliver it to the warehouse. To conceal his actions, he provided false information regarding the movement of property, prepared documents with violations, or did not prepare them at all.
The misappropriated fuel was used at the former official's discretion, resulting in a loss of over 650 tons of a strategically important resource for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The state suffered losses exceeding 24 million UAH.
The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail amounting to 450,000 UAH.
Efforts are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the crime. Measures are being taken to recover the damages incurred by the state.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the First SVI of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv, with operational support from the OV of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv and the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU.
