After the celebration of the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah, Hasidic pilgrims have begun to depart from Uman. This was reported by the Cherkasy police via Telegram.
“Hasidic pilgrims are leaving the city of Uman. A special police unit remains in the city to ensure safety,” the message states.
The police informed that approximately 10 instances of illegal drug possession had been documented. This information has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As a result, 12 decisions were made for the forced return of Israeli citizens. Five Israeli citizens were banned from entering Ukraine for three years due to violations of the Criminal Code.
The police department noted that law enforcement, national guards, emergency services, Israeli police, and migration service workers regularly conducted preventive talks with pilgrims and provided assistance when needed.
It is reminded that nearly 40,000 pilgrims arrived in Uman for the Rosh Hashanah celebrations, among which 38,000 were foreigners.
