Arrest of a Russian Spy in Kharkiv Region

The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another Russian agent in the Kharkiv region. This individual was involved in espionage against the Ukrainian armed forces in one of the critical frontline areas - Izium.
Reports indicate that the enemy intended to use the information gathered by this agent to prepare for offensive operations and breach the combat line.
Investigations revealed that a 23-year-old unemployed local woman came to the attention of the enemy during the temporary occupation of her community at the beginning of the full-scale war.
In May this year, Russian intelligence agents reestablished contact with her and, in exchange for "easy money," tasked her with gathering data on the locations of Ukrainian military bases near the front.
To accomplish this, she traversed the area, attempting to discreetly document sites where she believed Ukrainian forces were stationed.
As a cover, the agent claimed to be "visiting relatives" living in a combat zone.
The SBU arrested her and seized her smartphone, which contained screenshots of Google Maps marking potential "targets" for attacks.
The Security Service has notified the agent of suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law). The perpetrator is currently in custody without the possibility of bail and faces life imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
