FSB Agent Arrested in Khmelnytskyi: New Developments

image

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another suspected agent of Russian special services in Khmelnytskyi. This individual was involved in orchestrating missile attacks on military and critical infrastructure targets in western Ukraine.
It turned out that a 31-year-old unemployed man, who was looking for quick earnings, caught the attention of Russian agents through Telegram.
He received orders from two FSB operatives:

  •  one demanded the collection and transmission of coordinates for the Armed Forces of Ukraine airfields;
  •  the other was waiting for information about key electrical substations that the Russians planned to destroy.

Additionally, the agent attempted to identify the locations of municipal institutions and law enforcement vehicles for possible future bombings.
SBU officers caught him red-handed while he was filming a local electrical substation. His smartphone contained evidence of correspondence with the occupiers, as well as photos and videos of Ukrainian sites he intended to send to the FSB.
The detainee has been informed of suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed in a state of martial law).
The suspect is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with the regional prosecutor's office.
