A tragic road accident occurred in Kyiv, resulting in the death of a law enforcement officer. This information was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).

The incident took place on Monday, September 8, at approximately 5:50 AM on Oleny Telihy Street. A sergeant from a military unit, while driving a service vehicle, lost control, veered into oncoming traffic, and collided with another car occupied by a police officer. Both the driver and the passenger, the police officer, died at the scene from their injuries.

The driver of the service vehicle sustained injuries.

DBR investigators arrived at the scene, initiated several expert examinations, and are currently working to establish all the circumstances of the accident.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating traffic rules resulting in death).

The procedural oversight is carried out by the Kyiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Central region.
