The Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon, has made his first visit to Ukraine in nearly two decades. This marks a significant event for both nations.

According to sources, he arrived in Ukraine on May 20 by train, disembarking at a station near the capital. He was welcomed by the Norwegian ambassador and a Ukrainian delegation led by the Deputy Foreign Minister.

Accompanying him was Norway's Minister of Energy.

Representatives from the royal family stated that this visit symbolizes Norway's strong support for Ukraine.

The Crown Prince visited a hospital where injured Ukrainian soldiers are undergoing rehabilitation, and he also toured the memorial in Moshchun, a site significant during the defense of Kyiv.

Further meetings with Ukrainian officials and discussions regarding Norwegian projects in Ukraine are planned.

This is the first visit from a member of the Norwegian royal family to Ukraine since 2008.
