In the Rivne region, two boys suffered injuries due to explosions of dangerous objects. One boy lost part of his fingers from a lithium battery explosion, while the other sustained fractures from a firecracker blast.
These incidents occurred on April 22, according to the police press service.
The first case took place in Rivne, where a 14-year-old boy found a lithium battery on Haidamatska Street and decided to open it with a knife, leading to an explosion.
Medics hospitalized the minor with traumatic amputation of three finger phalanges.
The second incident happened in the village of Horodok near Rivne. In the evening, a 13-year-old local boy found a firecracker on the street and accidentally pulled the fuse, causing it to explode.
At the hospital, he was diagnosed with fractures of two finger phalanges and was later discharged.
Authorities urge the public once again: if you find a suspicious object, do not touch it and immediately call emergency services at 102.
Currently, the police are investigating both incidents.
