The "European Solidarity" faction is insisting on an urgent session of Parliament with President Volodymyr Zelensky present.

Direct quote: "European Solidarity calls for President V. Zelensky to present the Ukrainian peace plan and details of the negotiation process. Will the Minerals Agreement remain part of this plan? After all, it was Zelensky who initiated this agreement and highlighted it as a key point in his resilience plan for fall 2024. How will this agreement facilitate peace and security guarantees?"
Details: Gerashchenko expressed dissatisfaction that Ukrainians learn about these matters from international media rather than from Ukrainian authorities.
She is also concerned about "leaks regarding the peace plan allegedly proposed by the USA to Ukraine and Russia," which supposedly suggests "capitulation instead of peace."
Direct quote: "Ukrainians should learn about the negotiation process not from international media, Secretary of State Rubio, or special representatives, but from Ukrainian authorities... Ukrainians have the right to hear from their government our strategy to achieve peace."
More details: According to her, for several months officials delegated by Zelensky to the negotiation group have been avoiding communication with Parliament, with Ministers Andriy Sybiha and Rustem Umerov not appearing for question hours in Parliament and not answering questions about the negotiation process or the Ukrainian plan.
Direct quote: "The Ukrainian government must report to the public regarding the minerals agreement and, crucially, present our realistic plan for achieving peace, strengthening the anti-Putin coalition, and maintaining support for Ukraine. The "European Solidarity" faction demands a public meeting with President Zelensky, as well as with Ministers Sybiha and Umerov, who are directly involved in the negotiation process."
Background:
- Reports emerged that the Trump Administration handed Ukraine a one-page document last week in Paris, presented as the "final proposal" for peace settlement by the US president. A source close to the Ukrainian government stated that Kyiv views this proposal as highly biased concerning Russia.
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko stated that Ukraine is ready to negotiate peace but will not surrender.
