The ‘Mental Support’ forum brought together around 500 professionals working in educational institutions, including teachers and representatives from district education departments. The event took place under the auspices of the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration for Digital Development, Petro Olenych, in Kyiv.
“As part of our initiative, we focus on crisis response groups providing essential support. This includes numerous field trips and online consultations for teachers, as well as training for thousands of educators. Together with the team, we continue to enhance digital resources in the field of mental health,” said Olenych.
The forum was a key component of a joint project between the city government and the Klitschko Foundation.
“The ‘Mental Support’ project exemplifies successful collaboration between charitable organizations and city authorities, enabling us to provide vital assistance to the capital's community. In the context of war, we must support children in adapting to new realities. Our mission is to help them and instill hope. Collaborating with psychologists and teachers is the best strategy for this,” emphasized Angelina Osadcha, the director of the Klitschko Foundation.
The forum is just one element of the comprehensive ‘Mental Support’ initiative, which includes the establishment of mobile psychological support groups that respond promptly to emergencies in schools. In the first month of operation, these groups conducted 20 visits, mainly due to requests related to shelling in the capital.
It’s worth noting that the ‘Mental Support’ project started in April 2024 in collaboration with the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration.
