A national-patriotic education event took place in Kyiv for students of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Kyiv University named after Boris Hrinchenko. The main goal of the meeting was to foster an active civic stance among youth through dialogue with veterans who participated in combat.

During the event, representatives of the «Kyiv Military Hub» introduced students to their activities. The youth also had the opportunity to view photos of Hero of Ukraine Ruslan Borovik, who died in combat in the Kharkiv region on April 29, 2022.

Veterans shared their memories of participating in military conflicts. Military psychologist Vera spoke about her journey, the goals of the «Kyiv Military Hub», and the importance of societal support for veterans.

«In the heat of battle, it is crucial not only to complete the military mission but also to provide psychological support to fellow soldiers. The morale of the troops often determines both the success of the operation and the effectiveness of rehabilitation and adaptation to civilian life as a veteran», – Vera noted.

Roman Ushev, Mykhailo Pleshakov, and Vladislav Bitkovskiy shared their life stories, discussing the challenges that veterans face after their service.

«War does not end when you leave the battlefield. War stays within you. It is vital for both soldiers and society to understand that rehabilitation is a long-term process requiring support, understanding, and knowledge», – emphasized Roman Ushev.

Additionally, students had the chance to talk with veterans and discuss aspects of rehabilitation, psychological support, and social adaptation after the war.

The presentation of the «Kyiv Military Hub» demonstrated to students that veterans not only defend the country on the battlefield but also continue their service by supporting and rehabilitating their comrades in civilian life.
