On September 30, a new project was launched in Kyiv to provide physical rehabilitation for veterans in need following injuries and illnesses. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Olena Hovorova, during a panel discussion.
“With the support of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and the ‘Kyiv Military Hub’, the fitness club network ‘SportLand’ and ‘Fitness Continent’ is offering free rehabilitation services to our veterans who have suffered injuries, undergone surgeries, or have disabilities,” she stated.
According to Hovorova, fitness and physical activity not only maintain physical health but also aid in psychological recovery, helping to overcome post-traumatic stress and regain emotional balance.
Currently, five clubs are participating in the project: in Darnytsia, Livoberezhna, Obolon, Voskresenka, and Troyeshchyna. A total of 73 veterans are already benefiting from free club memberships, with the network offering 150 memberships for participants.
Each club selects two qualified trainers with a minimum of two years of experience, who undergo additional training at the National University of Physical Education and Sports.
The rehabilitation trainer assesses the veteran's physical condition, selects safe workouts, and creates a personalized training program.
