Today, September 11, the «Hope Raising Expedition» cycling journey concluded in Kyiv. This unique initiative was led by Jakub Kepka, who traveled from Krakow to the capital of Ukraine. The participants were welcomed by Olena Hovorova, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.

«Today we welcomed a Polish delegation from Krakow, which is a sister city to Kyiv, completing their ride in the Ukrainian capital. This cycling expedition was initiated by Jakub Kepka, a Canadian of Polish descent, with the aim of raising funds to support individuals with amputations, particularly veterans, by providing them with necessary prosthetics and training in the latest prosthetic technologies. Jakub Kepka, a former soldier with an above-the-knee amputation, continues to engage in sports at 67 years old, inspiring others by his example. Such initiatives serve as a reminder to the global community about the ongoing war in Ukraine and offer a path for rehabilitation through sports for our soldiers and veterans», noted Olena Hovorova.

The «Hope Raising Expedition» project is under the patronage of Krakow's Mayor Aleksander Miszalski. This cycling journey stands as a testament to perseverance and aims to inspire others to believe in their abilities and pursue dreams that often seem unattainable.
