The Ukrainian women's beach football team concluded their Euroleague 2025 campaign by securing bronze medals. In the third-place match, Ukraine faced Poland. The game ended in a 3:3 draw after regular and extra time, with Ukraine winning 4:3 in the penalty shootout.
In this crucial match, the team played without their head coach Yuri Klymenko, who was suspended during the semifinals. Poland took the lead with a penalty on the second minute – 0:1. However, just a minute later, Anna Shulha equalized with a stunning shot from the center of the field – 1:1!
The Polish players were aggressive, but it was Ukraine that scored next, with Iryna Bavzenyuk netting a rebound – 2:1!
As the second period began, Ukraine faced more threats, but they responded with determination. After Poland was awarded a penalty, the score leveled again – 2:2.
However, shortly thereafter, Ukrainian girls took the lead again through a goal by Margarita Yurasova – 3:2! Yet, due to a defensive error, Poland equalized once more – 3:3.
In the final period, Polish players were more aggressive, but the Ukrainian team held their ground. In the closing minutes of regular time, goalkeeper Terekh made a crucial save, sending the match into extra time.
With just a minute left in extra time, Ukraine earned a free kick but failed to convert. In a dramatic penalty shootout, Ukraine emerged victorious with a score of 4:3!
