The archery world championship in South Korea saw Ukrainian athlete Anastasia Pavlova compete in the women's category against 123 participants from various nations. She became the only European to reach the finals, securing 7th place.
This is a significant achievement for Ukraine and the Kherson region, as her journey to success was challenging:
- In the round of 16, Anastasia defeated Brazilian athlete Sliachticas Caetano Ana Luiza with a score of 7:1;
- In the quarterfinals, she overcame Spanish competitor Unamunzaga Altuna Irati with a score of 7:3;
- In the semifinals, unfortunately, she lost to a Chinese representative with a score of 2:6.
In team events, Anastasia also showed commendable results: 11th place out of 32 teams in the women’s category and 4th place out of 43 teams in the mixed category. In the Olympic round, the Ukrainian team placed 9th, while the duo Pavlova-Gunbin achieved 7th place.
We are truly proud of our athlete and wish Anastasia continued success on the world stage.
