The board of directors of World Boxing has approved the application from the Ukrainian Boxing Federation.
This was reported by the press service of the FBU.
"This opens the doors for our athletes to participate in all events under the World Boxing banner, including World Cups and world championships, as well as other international competitions. Each of our boxers steps into the ring not only for medals but also for the honor of the country. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation is doing everything possible to develop boxing in Ukraine, support our athletes, and achieve new victories," stated the Ukrainian Boxing Federation.
The first World Boxing Championship will kick off on September 4 in Liverpool, featuring representatives from Ukraine. A total of 20 sets of medals will be contested for men and women.
The IOC has granted the International Boxing Association (IBA), led by Russian Umar Kremlev, the right to organize Olympic boxing tournaments.
In 2023, the World Boxing organization was established to ensure the preservation of boxing in the Olympic Games program. In March 2025, the IOC officially included boxing in the Olympic program.
