The police have reminded drivers about the necessity of using turn signals while driving.
This was reported by the patrol police of the Kyiv region.
According to the police, drivers are required to signal with turn signals in the following situations:
before starting to move and stopping;
before changing lanes, turning, or making a U-turn.
Signals should be given in advance: in populated areas - at 50-100 meters, and outside the city - at 150-200 meters. After completing the maneuver, the turn signal must be turned off immediately.
Penalty for Violation
Recently, in Boryspil, the police recorded a violation: the driver of a Volkswagen T-Roc did not activate the turn signal at the intersection of Kyivskyi Shlyakh and Bezivka streets.
The police stopped the vehicle and issued a ruling for violating the rules of using warning signals (Art. 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses).
Law enforcement urges drivers to follow traffic rules and activate turn signals, as this reduces the risk of accidents and ensures road safety.
It is also worth noting that with the arrival of warm weather, drivers are recommended to change winter tires for summer ones. This is important not only for preserving tire life but also for safety, as winter tires have worse grip on the road in hot weather. In Ukraine, there are currently no fines for using winter tires in warm weather, but this may change.
