The Hanenko Museum is hosting a new exhibition that showcases the cultural achievements of the Hanenko family and the history of their library.
From June 26 to September 14, the exhibition titled «Art and Heritage» will feature works from the family's private collection.
According to the organizers, all exhibits were sourced from family archives, and it took over two years to prepare the exhibition.
But why the title «Art and Heritage»? This relates to the classification system where art works began to be marked as «7», symbolizing their importance.
The Hanenko archives hold a plethora of works, from Varvara's poetry to Van Gogh's paintings.
«I visited the exhibition at the Hanenko Museum, and it was a wonderful experience. I was particularly impressed by the display dedicated to their library. The museum excels in organization and love for art», — shares a visitor.
At the exhibition, you can explore four distinct halls that reveal the history of the Hanenko library, including letters and newspaper articles about their achievements.
The second hall represents the library during the socialist regime, while the next hall showcases the period of thaw when the Hanenko family gained recognition abroad.
In the final hall, you will see a collection of foreign art, including works by Chinese, Greek, and Roman artists.
«The exhibition left a profound impression on me. The exhibits demonstrate the richness of cultures, and the museum's atmosphere encourages deep reflection», — noted one visitor.
Don't miss the chance to join a guided tour on weekends to learn more about the exhibits and the library's history.
