The municipal enterprise of the Desnyansky district has completed the construction of an accessible space near the administrative service center located at 29 Red Kalina Avenue.
According to the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, specialists have carried out a range of works to ensure a barrier-free approach to this socially significant facility.
In particular, the asphalt pavement of sidewalks covering more than 4,500 square meters has been restored, making the pedestrian area safer and more convenient. Barrier-free access has been created to four public transport stops, with lowered curbs and tactile strips installed on Architect Mykolaiv Street and Red Kalina Avenue.
Additionally, curbs at the stops have been elevated to facilitate easier entry and exit for passengers. A parking area has been designated with marked spaces for people with disabilities and their companions. The underground crossing at the intersection of Red Kalina Avenue and Ronald Reagan Street has also been updated, replacing old slabs with new asphalt pavement.
The Department of Transport Infrastructure emphasized that Kyiv is systematically working on creating a barrier-free environment. This is not just about comfort but primarily about dignity, equal opportunities, and respect for every individual.
