The Dangers of Social Media Games: What Parents Should Know

A dangerous trend has emerged on social media among children – the game "Green Doors, Red Doors". Participants attempt to put one another into a trance-like state.

This can pose significant risks to both physical and mental health, experts warn.

During the game, children try to induce a trance in one of the participants using relaxation and visualization techniques, causing the child to "see" imaginary rooms.

Professionals emphasize that these activities can lead to serious health issues, including circulation problems, spasms, headaches, and dizziness.

Moreover, such practices can increase intracranial pressure, potentially leading to strokes in children with congenital conditions.

Experts also point out that "Green Doors, Red Doors" can trigger anxiety and disorientation in children, occasionally resulting in panic attacks and the development of psychosis.

Other consequences may include nightmares and distorted perceptions of reality.

Additionally, dangerous trends may carry social and behavioral risks for children, such as:

  • isolation;
  • irritability;
  • nervousness;
  • engaging in dangerous or criminal activities.

"Be aware! The aggressor country may use game mechanics to recruit children for real crimes and acts of sabotage," emphasized social service officials.

What should parents do if their children have dangerous interests?

Parents are advised to build trusting relationships with their children to notice any dangerous trends early. It's crucial to calmly discuss the game with the child, asking what interests them and listening without judgment.

Then, it's important to explain the potential risks of such games, discussing their psychological impact and the possibility of being drawn into criminal activities.

"Pay attention to emotional behavior. If the child becomes withdrawn or anxious, consider consulting a psychologist," experts added.

This year, a dangerous challenge involving children making firecrackers circulated on social media. As a result of attempts to create pyrotechnic devices, three children ended up in the hospital.
