On April 11, Ukraine officially established diplomatic relations with Somalia, as announced by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

Sybiga stated: "We have officially initiated diplomatic relations with Somalia. I signed the relevant protocol with Ali Mohamed Omar, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia."

He added that this occurred during the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey.

"We also discussed ways to enhance our cooperation. Ukraine is providing assistance to Somalia under the "Grain from Ukraine" program and is ready to continue strengthening the country's food security. We appreciate Somalia's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Sybiga concluded.
