Detectives from the Economic Security Bureau uncovered a fraudulent scheme involving the illegal importation of vehicles disguised as humanitarian assistance.
This was reported by the EDB press service.
The investigation revealed that the individuals involved forged requests from charitable organizations, claiming a need for vehicles for the Armed Forces.
As a result, the perpetrators avoided paying customs duties and taxes on the imported cars. The vehicles were sold for cash.
During authorized searches, detectives seized 5 vehicles registered to charitable organizations, along with documents, handwritten notes, computer equipment, and mobile phones.
