Ukrainian dancers Vladislav and Veronika have claimed victory in the finale of Holland’s Got Talent. Their performance conveyed the emotions of the early months of the full-scale war. This was reported by UNITED24.
The couple took to the stage with a heartfelt number that spoke of love, hope, and the yearning for freedom. One of the judges described their performance as «the embodiment of freedom,» rather than just a dance.
Their choreography illustrated the pain and losses experienced during the initial months of the war. Through their dance, they showcased how the war has torn families apart, taken loved ones, and forced people to flee their homes.
Veronika shared her experience of escaping Ukraine with her parents and pets in a car, taking everything they could. «My world collapsed, and we drove into the unknown,» she recounted.
During the auditions, Vladislav and Veronika impressed the judges so much that one of them pressed the golden button, sending them automatically to the next round. «Your level is incredible. If something as horrific and ugly can be turned into something so beautiful, it is truly impressive,» commented judge Den Karati.
