YouTube has restored access to the "Memorial of Heroes" channel after it was blocked due to numerous complaints from Russia. This information was reported by the Institute of Mass Media, referencing co-founder Gayane Avakyan.
Avakyan expressed gratitude to everyone who supported and spread the news about the blockage.
She noted that the team reached out to government agencies and organizations that also submitted appeals to YouTube.
“The unblock was facilitated by Google Ukraine's General Manager, Tetyana Lukinyuk, who responded promptly to the request. We hope there will be no more such blockages,” she emphasized.
The "Memorial of Heroes" channel features 18 documentaries, including films about fallen heroes and a documentary on the missile strike by Russia in Dnipro that resulted in the deaths of 52 civilians. It also includes nearly 100 memorial videos with biographies and memories of the fallen soldiers.
Additionally, the Russian government has granted Roskomnadzor the authority to block any websites and disconnect the Russian segment of the internet from the global network starting March 1, 2026, particularly in cases of "spreading prohibited content".
