Arrest of Organizer Behind Illegal Military Exits

Law enforcement in Kyiv has successfully dismantled the operation of an individual who, in collaboration with accomplices, was facilitating the illegal exit of military personnel to European Union countries.
The investigation conducted by the Pechersk police department revealed that a 35-year-old resident of the capital was orchestrating the illegal migration of military conscripts to EU nations.
The perpetrator sought out potential clients among men of conscription age and promised them an unobstructed border crossing for a fee of $12,000, bypassing official checkpoints. His associates handled further transportation, and their identities are currently being established by the investigators.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of local investigators, criminal police, SBU officers, and operatives from the 27th border detachment named after the heroes of the Carpathian Sich, the suspect was apprehended while receiving money from one of the conscripts.
The man has been charged under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – organizing the illegal transport of individuals across the state border, committed by a group for selfish motives. The penalty for this charge includes up to nine years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
