In Kyiv, there are plans to name the unnamed square on Prorizna Street «Musical» to emphasize cultural heritage and promote musical arts. This was reported by the Kyiv City Council.

This initiative has been approved by the permanent commission of the Kyiv Council on culture, tourism, and public communications. As noted by the head of the commission, deputy Victoria Mukha, last year the charitable foundation «Mission of Intellectual Initiatives» approached Mayor Vitali Klitschko with a request to name the square.

After the commission's approval, the decision was brought forward for public discussion and electronic voting via the «Kyiv Digital» application.

«Prorizna Street has always been an important cultural marker. It has housed the philharmonic, musical establishments, art magazine offices, and educational institutions. Preserving such symbols is crucial for maintaining Kyiv's cultural identity,» emphasized Victoria Mukha. She added that this decision is symbolic as Kyiv has officially applied for the status of UNESCO City of Music.
