As a result of Israeli airstrikes on the Nasser Hospital in Gaza, at least 15 individuals have lost their lives, among them four journalists.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to Palestinian sources, Reuters contractor Husam al-Masri was killed during the first strike.

Photographer Hatem Khaled, also a Reuters contractor, sustained injuries during the second strike. Eyewitnesses say this occurred after rescuers, journalists, and others arrived at the attack site.

Among the deceased are freelance journalist Mariam Abu Daghah from the Associated Press, journalist Mohammed Salama from the Qatari channel Al Jazeera, and journalist Moaz Abu Taha. A rescuer was also among the casualties.

According to the Palestinian Journalists' Union, over 240 Palestinian journalists have died in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli army confirmed the execution of a strike in this area, according to Times of Israel.

Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, chief of staff of the IDF, ordered an immediate investigation into the strike on Nasser Hospital.

“The IDF regrets any harm caused to civilians and does not intentionally target journalists,” stated the military command.
