The national electronic communications operator Kyivstar has once again made headlines after receiving recognition from Ookla in 2024, achieving all three major awards in the first half of 2025. This confirms that Kyivstar has been named the best provider in Ukraine for mobile internet speed and coverage for the second consecutive time. These successes reflect the effectiveness of strategic efforts to enhance service quality.
The Speedtest Awards from Ookla are significant accolades for communication operators worldwide. To determine the winners, Ookla experts analyzed 1,119,122 tests conducted by subscribers of all mobile operators in Ukraine in 2025. Kyivstar once again secured three prestigious awards in the categories of "Best Mobile Coverage," "Fastest Mobile Network," and "Best Mobile Network" in Ukraine.
According to Ookla, the Speed Score for Kyivstar's network was 56.57, the highest among all operators in the country. The Speed Score takes into account data on download speeds, upload speeds, and latency, providing a comprehensive picture of the network's performance. The average download speed reached 60.63 Mbps, made possible by significant investments in infrastructure and network modernization.
Kyivstar also achieved the best result in coverage testing (Coverage Score) with 35.28 points, based on the analysis of 412,001,916 scans conducted at verified locations. Currently, the company boasts the largest 4G network among all communication operators in Ukraine and continues to expand its reach. The high-speed 4G network from Kyivstar is now available to over 96% of the population in the controlled territories.
