The U.S. Department of State has approved a potential sale of maintenance and logistics services for M777 howitzers to Ukraine. The total package is valued at $203.5 million.
This was reported in a Pentagon press release.
According to the announcement, the first contract for $104 million includes the sale of military equipment, repair services, and support for M777 howitzers and related equipment. BAE Systems from the United Kingdom will be the primary contractor for this deal.
The second contract, worth $99.5 million, involves transportation and logistical services. The main contractor for this contract will be selected from among approved U.S. suppliers.
The Pentagon emphasized that there is currently no information regarding any compensatory agreements within this arrangement.
