The government, under the initiative of the President, is launching a social payment called «School Package» for families sending their children to first grade, amounting to 5,000 hryvnias.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting.
«This financial aid of 5,000 hryvnias is intended for those sending their children to school in an offline format,» Shmyhal explained.
According to the Prime Minister, the funds can be spent on purchasing stationery, books, children's clothing, and shoes—all necessary for preparing children for the school year.
Applications for the funds can be submitted through the «Diia» app or portal.
The Prime Minister noted that the process would be «convenient and straightforward» and that the funds must be spent solely in cashless form, paying with a card at stores that sell related goods for schoolchildren.
He also emphasized that this payment would not affect the receipt of subsidies or other forms of social assistance.
«The Ministry of Social Policy will communicate all details, including the start of the application process,» Shmyhal added.
The head of the government mentioned that the launch of the «School Package» is just a small part of the innovations aimed at creating conditions for Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine.
As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the government is developing a comprehensive social support system for families with children, covering all stages—from pregnancy to adulthood. This new model aims to replace fragmented programs with a cohesive strategy that includes medical, social, and educational assistance.
