Shooting Incident in Kyiv: Man Arrested

In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, police have apprehended a man who opened fire after a confrontation with a group of minors.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident as hooliganism. The shooter faces a potential sentence of up to seven years in prison.

The report of gunfire on Bratsvo Tarasivtsiv Street was received by the police from passersby in the evening. Investigative teams and patrol units responded to the scene.

It was established that a 45-year-old local resident, while intoxicated, engaged in a verbal dispute with the minors near a bus stop. During the altercation, he pulled out a traumatic pistol and fired towards the crowd. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The perpetrator was detained and the weapon was confiscated. He has been charged under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code - hooliganism, which involves gross violation of public order.

The Kyiv resident has been remanded in custody with the option of bail. The article carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
