Contract Square is becoming a green oasis! Residents of Kyiv and volunteers from around the world are uniting to create a unique urban space.
This project, developed by Danish architect Mikael Colville-Andersen, aims to create a comfortable and green environment in the heart of the capital for both locals and tourists. The new space will serve as a place for physical activity and relaxation, featuring green areas, benches, chess tables, sports facilities, and cultural corners.
Volunteer assistance with professional tools
Bosch in Ukraine has partnered with the project, providing essential tools — from drills to hand tools for woodworking. Bosch experts conducted a series of workshops where everyone could familiarize themselves with new tools and gain practical experience. A particular focus was on the new line of hand tools introduced earlier this year, which includes everything needed for professionals and DIY enthusiasts: sturdy saws, comfortable screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, pliers, and accurate measuring tools.
For Bosch, supporting the project at Contract Square is not just charity but part of the company's mission to improve people's lives. The value of the new space lies in its potential to become a true sanctuary for residents and guests of the capital, where they can unwind amidst greenery or engage in activities on well-equipped sports grounds.
“We live in Kyiv, walk the streets, and spend time with loved ones — this is our daily life. The idea of creating a space that enhances these moments resonated with us. For Bosch, it's not just about tools — it's about change. Here, technology and concept meet to make life more comfortable for people,” comments Ivanna Cherevko, Corporate Communications Manager at Bosch Ukraine.
Volunteers are constructing wooden structures using Bosch's professional tools, making the process safe and efficient. Company employees have also participated in the project alongside their families, helping, sharing experiences, and assembling structures under the architect's guidance.
Building the Space of the Future Together
Every weekend for a month, Contract Square transforms into an open-air workshop that anyone can join. Thanks to collaborative efforts, green islands with trees in special planters and comfortable relaxation areas with unique benches have already emerged. Additionally, the square is becoming more vibrant with the pavement art piece “Flower of Life.”
Installation work will continue until the official opening of the space, which is scheduled for July 2025.
