Young individuals aged 18 to 35 will have the opportunity not only to explore their country but also to contribute to its restoration.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Youth Center and the NGO "City of Active Citizens," with support from UNDP in Ukraine, is launching a youth exchange program called "RESTORE: UA." This initiative is funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Japan.
Since its inception in 2022, the program has engaged over 1500 participants, leading to the revitalization of 52 youth spaces across Ukraine.
By 2025, "RESTORE: UA" will expand to 15 communities in various regions of the country. During the summer months, youth will reside in communities where restoration projects are underway, immersing themselves in local culture and participating in training sessions, excursions, and workshops.
The program comprises three main components:
- Volunteering — engaging in restoration work to create youth spaces.
- Education — developing skills in leadership, media literacy, and social cohesion.
- Cultural program — delving into the history and traditions of hosting communities.
Participation in the program is free of charge, covering accommodation, meals, and travel expenses. No prior construction experience is required.
This initiative not only promotes the physical restoration of the country but also strengthens social ties and nurtures a new generation of leaders. United by a common goal, the youth of Ukraine is building their future together.
