The government has approved a new procedure for recognizing and counting work experience gained abroad for pension calculations.
This is stated in government resolution No. 562, as reported by the news agency "Interfax-Ukraine".
According to the new rules, starting from May 16, a mechanism is established to confirm and count periods of work abroad if an individual lacks sufficient insurance experience in Ukraine.
The document notes that work periods spent in countries with which Ukraine has signed international agreements can be counted toward the insurance experience for citizens of Ukraine under the terms of these agreements.
Specifically, individuals who have worked abroad and lack the necessary experience for pension eligibility must attach supporting documents to their applications.
If it is impossible to confirm the work experience through the documents, the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine must send a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 5 working days to obtain confirming documents from the foreign country.
Once the confirming documents are received, the work periods will be credited to the insurance experience for determining pension rights.
Additionally, the Cabinet has established a procedure for confirming the absence of pension payments from other states for individuals who worked before January 1, 1992, in the republics of the former USSR.
