Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that the possibility of a “1000 for 1000” prisoner exchange was discussed in Istanbul.

Additionally, there were talks about a possible meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Umerov Reveals Insights from Talks with Russia

“We discussed the prisoner exchange of 1000 for 1000,” he stated.

When asked about the next steps in the negotiation process, Umerov mentioned that “first and foremost, we need to focus on the exchange of prisoners.”

“After that, we will inform you about our subsequent actions,” Umerov concluded.

The minister also noted that the delegations from Ukraine and Russia discussed a ceasefire.
