In the first half of 2023, the trade turnover of agricultural goods between Ukraine and the European Union decreased by $0.6 billion (-7%) compared to the same period last year, totaling $7.6 billion.
This was reported by Mykola Puhachov, Deputy Director of the "Institute of Agrarian Economics" and academician of the NAAS.
He noted that the positive balance has fallen to $3.2 billion amid a simultaneous drop in exports by $0.9 billion and an increase in imports by $0.2 billion.
Ukraine’s main trading partners in the agricultural sector within the EU include Poland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, and France, the scientist stated.
The total trade turnover with these countries accounts for about 73% of the overall trade volume.
