Ukraine and Switzerland have signed a significant agreement focused on infrastructure recovery. The document was signed by government representatives from both nations.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has reported this news.
The Swiss government has identified the recovery of Ukraine as a strategic priority and plans to invest 5 billion francs (approximately €4.8 billion) by 2036.
This agreement includes the provision of non-repayable financial and technical assistance from Switzerland to procure goods and services from Swiss companies for recovery projects in the following sectors:
- Energy;
- Transportation;
- Engineering;
- Construction;
- Water supply;
Additionally, it will address emergency prevention and response.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the agreement provides for a transparent project selection mechanism through public procurement under Swiss law, exclusively involving Swiss companies. Special focus will be given to:
- The impact on Ukraine's recovery process;
- Contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goals;
- Job creation in Ukraine;
- Professional training for Ukrainian specialists.
