On July 10, the Netherlands confirmed the allocation of €300 million for the reconstruction and strengthening of Ukraine in 2025 and 2026.
This announcement was made by Foreign Minister Kaspar Veldkamp during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, according to "European Truth".
Veldkamp stated that €30 million of this amount will support Dutch companies in developing projects aimed at the reconstruction of Ukraine through the "Ukraine Partnership Fund" grant program.
In 2025, €52 million is earmarked for the restoration of energy infrastructure and drinking water supply in Ukraine.
Additionally, €4 million will be allocated for the construction of a new wing of the Children's Hospital in Lviv in collaboration with the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht.
These funds are part of the total support previously designated for 2025 and 2026, which exceeds €500 million.
Veldkamp emphasized that Russia aims not only to weaken Ukraine militarily but has also been attempting to destroy its society and economy through sustained attacks, making international support crucial.
Ukraine's economy and society need to continue functioning as this aids the country in its struggle.
Veldkamp noted that financial and economic support will facilitate smoother recovery and reduce reconstruction costs.
An agreement to continue the grant program of the "Ukraine Partnership Fund" was also signed during the conference.
At the end of June, the Netherlands announced a new military aid package for Ukraine amounting to approximately €175 million, complementing the previously announced support of €400 million for maritime security.
